Nascido em 2017, o URUCUM se apresenta como um grupo independente com não mais de 20 pessoas e seus instrumentos e hoje reune cerca de 100 membros ativos que organizam festividades e atividades culturais diretamente relacionadas aos diversos movimentos independentes da cidade de Itabirito - MG.
